About
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Naval, Electrical, Electronic, and Telecommunications Engineering (DITEN), University of Genoa, Italy. My current research focuses on human balance assessment using wearable inertial sensors and explainable deep learning models for biomedical time-series analysis, developed within the PNRR-funded RAISE project. Previously, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the CNIT – National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications, contributing to the EU Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects 5G-INDUCE and 6GREEN.
I earned my Ph.D. in Telecommunications from the COSMIC Lab, University of Genoa, specializing in IoT cybersecurity, particularly LoRaWAN protocol vulnerabilities and lightweight cryptographic key-management frameworks. My doctoral work included a research visit to KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden.
My research interests span IoT security, lightweight cryptography, 5G and edge computing, wearable sensing, and quantum and explainable AI for biomedical applications. I have also contributed to the EU-funded 5G INDUCE project, focusing on edge-based industrial IoT communication and secure network function virtualization.
Beyond research, I actively serve as a reviewer for several IEEE and Elsevier journals and engage in interdisciplinary collaborations integrating AI, signal processing, and communication technologies to develop intelligent, secure, and human-centric systems.
